Zero Motorcycles has unveiled the all-electric modern streetfighter, the SR/F.
The all-new Zero SR/F naked electric bike has been revealed and it sits on a completely new platform and has all-new powertrain and electronics. Zero has described the bike as an “unprecedented combination of industry-leading power, control, and connection.” The SR/F gets an all LED headlamp and 5-inch colour TFT instrument console which supports smartphone connectivity. The electric motorcycle is claimed to be the first fully smart motorcycle with a dedicated operating system that gives the rider the ability to monitor the bike’s status and alerts, charging, ride data, as well as system upgrades and updates.
Zero provides the bike in two variants, SR/F Standard and SR/F Premium. The SR/F gets a fully connected system where the motor, battery pack, electronics and rider aids like stability control interact with each other and can be controlled via the instrument console or an app on your phone. A Z-Force Li-Ion intelligent integrated 14.4 kWh battery pack powers the bike, with a hidden port on top of the dummy tank to charge it. The Premium variant takes just 2 hours to charge up to 95% and 2.5 hours to charge completely. There’s also a fast charging option that uses a 6kW fast charger and reduces full charging time to 1.5 hours.
The bike is powered by Zero’s new ZF75-10 motor that churns out 110 BHP at 5000 RPM and a staggering 190 Nm of torque. The motor is connected to a clutchless direct drive, with the power being sent to the rear wheel via a carbon belt. SR/F has a claimed top speed of 200 km/hr. The bike is controlled by Bosch’s new MSC System synced with Zero’s Cypher III operating system. This means the bike now features cornering ABS, cornering traction control and drag torque control on offer, with riding modes like Street, Sport, Eco, Rain and a custom mode that can be programmed in 10 different ways. As of now, there are no plans that might hint that Zero Motorcycles would come to India.
The Zero SR/F is priced at USD 18,995 (approx. Rs. 13.50 lakhs) for the Standard variant and USD 20,995 (approx. Rs. 14.93 lakhs) for the Premium variant.
