The Yamaha Spark 135 step-through scooter has been spotted at the Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai.
During the testing and track riding of the TVS Apache RR 310 at the Madras Motor Race Track, Chennai, the Yamaha Spark 135 step-through scooter has been spied parked alongside a Honda Activa. So, what is the vehicle doing at the race track? The scooter, in particular, does not sport a front fender and registration number plates. However, with the presence of race number stickers, it is likely that the scooter is being only used within track premises. It is also highly unlikely that the vehicle will see an India launch. Do you think India needs scooters like these?
The Yamaha Spark is also known as T135 in several other international markets. The scooter is powered by a 134.4cc single cylinder motor that produces 11.4 PS of power and 11.65 Nm of torque. The powertrain is paired with a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The Japanese automaker launched a fuel-injection version in 2008 and in 2011, the scooter was updated with a 5-speed manual transmission (the one you see in the image). Last year, the manual gearbox variant was discontinued and a more powerful T-150 variant was introduced.
The Yamaha Spark 135 employs standard telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Underpinning a diamond type frame, the scooter uses a disc and drum brake at the front and rear respectively.
