Yamaha R25 Special Edition Launched In Indonesia

A special MotoGP edition of the Yamaha R25 was launched in Indonesia on Sunday. It is limited to only 100 units and demands no premium cost over the regular R25.

The special edition R25 does look like a mouth-watering proposition

The Yamaha R25 has been well received by the people of Indonesia and has been able to sell in very good numbers as well. The R25 has also become a favourite in the country for aftermarket modifications due to its sporty characteristics. When the R25 was launched in Indonesia one year ago, 2800 units were sold out in just 25 hours through a web portal which shows just how popular the R25 is. To please people further, Yamaha Indonesia on Sunday launched a special edition R25 during the Yamaha Sunday R-Cup Race 2015 at the Sentul International Circuit in Bogor, West Java. The special edition is only limited to 100 units and enthusiasts will have to be quick to grab one.

The custom motorcycle is a Yamaha R25 MotoGP Edition which has changes over the base R25 in terms of a new racing livery and a custom Akrapovic exhaust. The bike also features beefed up, custom white racing wheels which do add a very sporty character to the R25. What’s interesting to note is that the special edition demands no premium in terms of pricing and one simply has to be quick to get their hands on one.

The special edition Yamaha R25 is surely a head turner and does indeed look like a sports bike. The Akrapovic exhaust unit will simply add a more deep throaty grunt to the already good sounding motorcycle. The new edition does not boast of any mechanical changes and continues to feature the same 250cc, 4-stroke, 8-valve DOHC liquid-cooled, two-cylinder engine which comes equipped with a fuel injection system. The motorcycle generates 36 PS of power at 12,000 RPM and 22.6 Nm of torque at 10,000 RPM.

The very same special edition was earlier spied at Candra Custom Knalpot (a performance tuning centre in Indonesia) and was showcased at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show as well. If someone has to custom fit an Akrapovic exhaust system on a regular R25 in Indonesia, it will cost them about Rp 8 million (Rs. 38,000/-), so the job on the motorcycle is very welcome and Yamaha has indeed done a very good job to please its fans. Meanwhile, Yamaha fans in India continue being disappointed.

The Yamaha R25 is doing very well in Indonesia and also has a big fan following
