Yamaha R15 V4 & R15 M Launched, Priced From Rs. 1.68 Lakh

The price of the base variant of Yamaha R15 V4 is Rs. 10,000/- less than the base model R15M

Yamaha has launched the R15 V4 with a starting price of Rs. 1,67,800/- in India today along with the new R15M which costs Rs. 1,77,800/- (prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).

The styling of the R15 V4 and the R15M is all-new and is inspired by the R1 litre-class superbike. However, the front profile is inspired by the R7 middleweight sportbike.

Thus, the motorcycles come with a bi‐functional LED headlight in the intake duct which is flanked by DRLs. Its fairing, which reduces aerodynamic drag, is new, the seats have been redesigned too, while the subframe is now reinforced.

Further, the R15 V4 and the R15M come equipped with a redesigned LCD display which has ‘Street’ and ‘Track’ modes, new trip/info button (on the right handlebar) and Bluetooth connectivity.

Both motorcycles also feature gold-coloured 37 mm inverted front fork, linked-type monocross rear suspension, dual channel ABS and traction control system.

Exclusive to the R15M are the carbon-like seat cover material (pillion seat has an embroidered logo), anodised blue fork caps, golden colour brake calipers and a 3D emblem on the fuel tank.

In terms of colour choices, the R15 V4 can be had in Dark Knight, Metallic Red and Racing Blue shades, while the R15M will be available in Metallic Grey colour and as the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition.

Both models are powered by a 155cc, liquid-cooled engine that puts out a maximum of 18.4 PS at 10,000 RPM and 14.2 Nm of peak torque at 7500 RPM.

The gearbox is a 6-speed unit and comes with an assist and slipper clutch along with a quickshifter (only in R15 V4 Racing Blue and R15M) which activates at engine speeds of over 2000 RPM.

Moreover, the bikes, which will be available from this month, can be fitted with accessories like hand lever guards, LED indicators, skid plate, frame sliders, among other items.
