The Yamaha R15 V3 has been spied at a dealership, India launch expected in January 2018.
With the arrival of the Yamaha R15 V3 at a dealership, the India launch is expected to take place in January 2018. Yamaha is yet to confirm the same. The V3 already sells in many other international markets and India is the latest market to receive it. The spotted R15 wears a dual-tone red and matte grey paint scheme and gets sporty graphics on the fairing.
The Yamaha R15 V3 is powered by a new 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor with fuel-injection and VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) which produces 19.31 PS of power and 14.7 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The India-spec R15 V3 gets standard telescopic forks up front as compared to the inverted forks in the international model.
The front fender on the India-spec R15 V3 looks more or less similar to the current R15 V2, while the international models get a sportier and broader front fender. While the international models get IRC rubber, the Indian R15 V3 gets MRF tyres. The Japanese automaker has adopted all these measures to keep costs in check.
The motorcycle gets an 11-litre fuel tank and tips the scales at 137 kgs. Features on offer include LED headlamps, full-digital instrument cluster and LED tail-light. Slipper clutch might not be offered.
