Yamaha R15 V3 bookings commence, booking amount is Rs. 5000/-.
The Yamaha R15 V3 was launched in the international markets a year ago and is all set to make its debut at the upcoming Auto Expo. While Yamaha is yet to confirm this officially, bookings for the motorcycle have already commenced. The new R15 can be booked for an amount of Rs. 5000/- and dealers report that the first batch of the new R15 bikes has started arriving at showrooms.
The India-spec R15 V3 as we all know isn’t the ditto of what is available in the global markets. The India-spec R15 V3 loses out on some premium hardware like inverted forks, ABS, sportier front fender and the IRC tyres, obviously due to cost concerns. What the company is offering instead is standard telescopic forks, R15 V2 like front fender and MRF rubber. It is being anticipated that the R15 V3 will be powered by a new 155cc, liquid-cooled VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) engine which churns out 19 HP of power and 14.7 Nm of torque.
Other features on offer in the motorcycle are LED headlights, fully-digital instrument console and slip-assist clutch. The R15 V3 will not have a direct rival in India until the Honda CBR150R is launched. That said, in terms of pricing, it will rival the KTM Duke 200 and the Bajaj Dominar 400.
