One of the most anticipated 150cc motorcycles, the MT-15 has been launched by Yamaha.
Yamaha MT-15 is the youngest sibling of the MT series by Yamaha and it has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 1.36 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is the naked street-fighter version of the Yamaha R15 V3.0. The bike competes with the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and KTM 125 Duke. The bike features a bug-eyed headlamp set up, with twin LED DRLs placed above the projector light.
The bike comes powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder engine as on the Yamaha R15 V3.0, which produces 19.3 PS at 10,000 RPM and 14.7 Nm of torque at 8500 RPM. A 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch is attached to the engine and the bike comes with a single-channel ABS unit as standard.
The bike gets telescopic front forks instead of USD forks that are featured on the international-spec bike. It gets box-section swingarm that replaces the cast aluminium unit as on the international-spec bike. Alloy wheels, LED tail lamps and all digital instrument cluster is also featured on the bike. MT-15 gets a single 245 mm disc at the front and a single 220 mm disc at the back.
