Today, the MT-15 was launched in India and is priced at Rs. 1.36 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). The MT-15 is placed at the start of the MT line-up and is designed from the looks of its elder siblings. Yamaha has got the Dark Side of Japan to India and is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder engine as on the Yamaha R15 V3.0. The engine on the MT-15 produces 19.3 PS at 10,000 RPM and 14.7 Nm of torque at 8500 RPM. The R15 V3.0 sourced engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch and has single-channel ABS as standard. The bike also gets a mean looking headlamp setup, with main projector headlamp and two LED DRLs placed above it. Though, if you want to consider your options on buying the Rs. 1.36 lakhs priced MT-15, you can get TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Bajaj Pulsar NS 200, Yamaha FZ25 and for a slight premium, you can opt for the Yamaha R15 V3.0.
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V comes with multiple offerings, the standard variant comes at Rs. 1.15 lakhs, the fuel injection variant comes at Rs. 1.29 lakhs, and the ABS-equipped variant is priced at Rs. 1.31 lakhs. The bike is powered by a 197.75cc, air-cooled engine which produces 20.07 BHP and 18.1 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox with A-RT slipper clutch. The bike has a top speed of 127 km/hr. The fuel capacity of the bike is of 12 litres and has a claimed fuel efficiency of 41 km/l. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox and a dual-channel ABS configuration. The FZ25 gets a 14-litre fuel tank with a claimed mileage of 43 km/l. It also gets all-LED headlamps and a digital instrument cluster. The bike has a top speed of 134 km/hr.
Yamaha R15 V3.0
The R15 V3 comes powered by a 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled and fuel-injected motor that produces 19 BHP and 15 Nm of torque. The engine gets a VVA (Variable Valves Actuation) technology and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch.
