Completing its line-up of 125cc urban scooters, Yamaha launched the Majesty S scooter in the UK that provides a very appealing design coupled with adequate performance and decent storage space for city dwellers. The Majesty S joins the Xenter and D’elight in Yamaha’s 125cc scooter range this year. Coming to the design of the Majesty S, the scooter exhibits a bold and masculine stance that looks fresh and appealing, especially for younger buyers.
The front fascia looks appealing with the large headlamp cluster, tall windscreen and also gets an LED position lamp and tail lights. The side profile of the scooter is contemporary and boasts of sharp lines and creases that extend up to the rear of the scooter. The Majesty S gets a smartly designed digital-analogue instrument cluster that displays the speedometer, tachometer, tripmeter and other details. The stepped up dual seat along with the large footboard offer a relaxed riding position.
Powering the Yamaha Majesty S is a 125cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine that produces 11.9 HP of power and 11.6 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT transmission. You also get telescopic front forks with 79 mm of fork travel, while the rear gets a swingarm type suspension setup. Stopping power comes from 267 mm hydraulic wave discs at the front, while the rear gets 245 mm wave disc brakes. The scooter rides on 130/70 13-inch tyres at the front and rear.
The Majesty S also comes with a host of storage options. A full faced helmet can be stored under the dual step seat, while the front features a glovebox and a hook for storing bags. Yamaha is also offering the optional top cases for owners who need to haul extra luggage. While the Majesty S is powerful, it also weighs at a healthy 148 kgs, but also comes with a 7.4 litre fuel tank offering a large range. The Yamaha Majesty S will go on sale in the UK in June this year, with option of three colours which include silky white, mat titan (pictured) and midnight black. The scooter won’t make it to India though.
