If you have been following us well you will know that we reported to you that Yamaha has made plans to strengthen their rural market. Their bestselling bikes in the Tier II and Tier III cities are the Crux and YBR 110. Recently Yamaha gave a minor face-lift to the Crux. The new Yamaha Crux is priced at Rs .33,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Talking about the Crux it is one of the cheapest offering by Yamaha in India and features a 106 cc 4-stroke engine, SOHC, 2-valve engine which comes downsized from the bigger 123.7 cc square engine we see in the YBX. It has a 4-speed gearbox. The facelift brings in minor changes to the bike like multi reflector head-lamps, tank graphics and tiny bits of changes. On the fuel efficiency front the Crux gives a decent 60 kmpl which is still less than the Hero (Honda) bikes in the segment. Yamaha looks like it is taking a shot at the recently launched Bajaj Boxer with this Crux facelift.
