Yamaha Launches New Colours For FZ-S FI & Fazer FI

After Bajaj Auto launched the Pulsar AS 150 and Suzuki recently gave new colours to the Gixxer street-fighter, Yamaha has now launched new colours for its premium 150cc commuters.

Both the bikes get only new colours and graphics, mechanicals remain the same

The Yamaha FZ-S and Fazer are commuter bikes in the upper-end of the 150cc segment and they also have a sporty touch to them. Targeted mostly towards the youth, both the bikes have been selling in pretty decent numbers. The Japanese manufacturer has now introduced new colours for both the bikes as a part of a minor update. The bikes also get some new graphics to gel with the new colours. Mechanicals on both the bikes remain quite unchanged though.

The Yamaha FZ-S FI and Fazer FI are powered by the same 149cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve engine that produces 13.1 PS of power at 8000 RPM and 12.8 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with a wet clutch. Both the bikes are underpinned by a light-weight diamond-type frame. The FZ-S FI is priced at Rs. 82,159/- (ex-showroom, Delhi) while the Fazer FI is priced at Rs. 87,305/- (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The FZ-S FI is now offered in the following colours – Wolf Gray, Shark White, Viper Black and Alligator Green while the Fazer FI is offered in the following colours – Snowstorm White, Ravine Black and Volcano Black. These new colours lift the visual appeal of the bike and also keep the product line-up fresh, since the 150cc segment is a heavily competing one with lots of equally capable bikes fighting it out over here.

The Yamaha FZ-S FI competes with the Suzuki Gixxer, Bajaj Pulsar 150, Honda CB Trigger, TVS Apache, Honda CB Unicorn and some more motorcycles. The Fazer FI competes with the Bajaj Pulsar AS 150 and Suzuki Gixxer SF. While Yamaha and Bajaj enjoy a nice monopoly in this segment of two-wheelers, Suzuki recently hit the arrow right on the head with the Gixxer and Gixxer SF, both of which have been successful and selling in good numbers each month.
