Yamaha has set a premium asking price for its new FZX
Yamaha has launched the FZX in India with a starting asking price of Rs. 1,16,800/- (ex-showroom, Delhi), today.
Available in Matt Copper, Matt Black and Metallic Blue colour options, the motorcycle sports neo-retro styling that marks it out from the 150cc FZ-series on which it is based.
It comes with a circular LED headlight that has DRLs, front fork boots, a raised handlebar, sculpted fuel tank, single piece seat, a new slim LED tail lamp and several brushed aluminium-esque parts.
The Yamaha FZX also features a digital LCD instrument cluster, USB socket, and a Bluetooth connectivity feature that works with a new application called ‘Y-Connect’ which can notify the owner about engine malfunction, oil change timing, battery level and so on.
The new FZ-X comes with a 2-valve Blue Core FI Engine which generates 12.4 PS of peak power at 7250 RPM and 13.3 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM. This should prove to be just right for cruising around town and the upright riding position should help matters too.
The neo-retro motorcycle weighs 139 kg (wet), has 165 mm ground clearance of and for added safety, it is equipped with single channel ABS.
Using the Y-Connect app, the rider can check smartphone notifications on the instrument cluster, look at maintenance recommendations, track previous parking location, track fuel consumption, receive malfunction notification, and also access the ‘Revs Dashboard’ which displays engine rpm, amount of throttle opening, rate of acceleration, through his or her phone.
Yamaha has stated that deliveries of the new FZX will start this month. Also, the first 200 customers are set to get a wrist watch as a gift.
