Yamaha FZ DarKnight Edition comes with cosmetic changes to make the motorcycle look more attractive!
Having launched the awaited R15 V3 and displaying the iconic R6 at the Auto Expo, it was time for Yamaha to attend to its mass-market product range. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer has taken covers off the Yamaha FZ DarKnight Edition which is a special edition based on the FZ-S FI. Yamaha has launched its offerings with DarKnight editions in the past as well and this one is built on the same lines.
The first thing to catch your attention is the matte black paint job which gives the street-fighter a sporty appearance. However, the front fender and headlight cowl is painted gloss black to match the gloss black strip running across the length of the motorcycle. You get revised graphics which come with a chrome finish that looks tacky on a matte body colour. Apart from that, there are no visual changes to the motorcycle.
The special edition bike continues to be powered by a 149cc Blue Core engine and all powertrain, suspension, brake and electronic components remain unchanged. Expect Yamaha to launch it soon at a slight premium over the regular variant’s pricing. Currently, the price for the standard Yamaha FZ starts at Rs. 81,174/- (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
