Yamaha has updated the FZ and FZ-S with BS6 compliant engine.
Yamaha FZ FI & FZ-S FI BS6 compliant versions launched, priced from Rs. 99,200/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is a good move from the Japanese bike maker as they have updated the engine to BS6 well ahead of the April 1, 2020 deadline.
All the previous colours available with the bike continue to be on sale with the BS6 engine. However, Yamaha has introduced two new colour options with this update for the FZ-S including Darknight and Metallic Red.
The updated BS6 engine makes lower power but more torque than the outgoing BS4 version. The FZ and FZ-S BS6 versions are powered by the same 149cc, single cylinder engine that now produces 12.4 PS of power at 7250 RPM and 13.6 Nm of peak torque at 5500 RPM.
Some of the features of the bikes include single channel ABS in the front wheel with front & rear disc brakes, negative LCD instrument cluster and single piece two level seat.
Yamaha will be rolling out more BS6 compliant products in the lineup ahead of the April 2020 deadline.
