After the launch of the FZ25, Yamaha seem to be silently working on the Fazer 250.
Yamaha India recently launched the FZ25, but the date of deliveries of the bike have still not been announced. The FZ25 comes with segment best torque of 20 Nm which will come in very handy in city riding conditions. Yamaha is said to be working on a full-faired version of the FZ25 which could be called Fazer 250.
Yamaha launched the FZ16 in 2008 and followed up with the Fazer in 2009, both bikes being the same mechanically with the big difference being the quarter fairing and twin headlights. If Yamaha launch the faired version of the FZ25, the bike can be a capable tourer as Yamaha once wanted the Fazer FI to be a tourer.
The Yamaha Fazer 250 is not far away and could be launched sometime this year. The pricing of the quarter-litre motorbike will also not be much when compared to the FZ25 as the price difference between the FZ-S and Fazer FI is very small. The FZ25 which was launched recently, is priced at Rs. 1.19 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), we can expect the bike to be priced around Rs. 1.30 lakhs.
