Yamaha India has added two new colours to the R15 including the Cyan and GP blue. The former will be a limited edition model.
Clearly the benchmark in its segment, Yamaha India has a strong product under its umbrella in the form of the YZF-R15 that has been winning hearts ever since its launch in 2008. With the bike being refreshed in 2011 as v2.0, the manufacturer has had brisk sales for the track-focused machine that has been an obvious choice for enthusiasts. Now enticing its buyers on the occasion of Holi, Yamaha is offering two new colours on the R15 inducing some freshness into the aesthetics of the bike.
The 2015 Yamaha R15 2.0 gets an all-new GP Blue and Streaking Cyan special edition paint schemes added to the palette, in addition to the existing four colours namely Racing blue, Grid gold, Raring red and Invincible black. Apart from the addition of new colours, the bike gets no mechanical changes and continues with the extremely potent 149.8cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine churning out 17 PS of power and 15 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
Yamaha is targeting the young set of buyers in the age group of 18-24 years and the new colours are expected to improve sales of the R15 further. Both the GP blue and Streaking Cyan special edition paint schemes have been priced at Rs. 1,17,260/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). While the R15 is the entry-level performance offering from Yamaha, the Japanese giant will be bringing the YZF-R3 as well as the new generation R1 to the country later this year to compete in the performance space.
