Volkswagen has launched the Passat Connect Edition with an advanced telematics solution.
Volkswagen had launched the Passat at the end of 2017 and now the Connect Edition of the sedan has been launched. The premium sedan gets an advanced telematics solution, an app that enables customers to experience the connected features such as trip tracking, fuel cost monitoring, driving behaviour, SOS call and many other functions.
The Connect app allows the users to connect their smartphone to the Passat through a data dongle fitted to the on-board diagnostics (OBD) port of the car. Once the app is connected, users can track every trip made by the car when the phone is connected. The fuel cost monitor keeps a tab on the monthly and trip-wise fuel costs, driving behaviour scores are given for acceleration, braking, engine speed and engine temperature. Location sharing enables users to share their last parking locations with others.
In case of a breakdown, the app can directly connect a call to the helplines from the user’s phone. There is also a service appointment feature that informs the dealership when the customer’s car is due for service so the workshop can contact the customer for a service appointment.
The Volkswagen Passat comes with several features such as nine airbags, hill start assist, auto hold, reverse camera with 360 degrees area view, park assist, Nappa leather seats, dynamic chassis control, three-zone auto AC, electric adjustable front seat, LED headlamps with DRLs, LED tail lamps and an easy open boot.
The Volkswagen Passat Connect Edition is available in two trims, the Comfortline trim is priced at Rs. 25.99 lakhs and the Highline trim is priced at Rs. 28.99 lakhs (both ex-showroom). Both the trims come with the same 2.0-litre TDI engine with a 6-speed DSG.
