All over the world, crossovers have gained popularity in recent times. Road conditions have become relatively bad in most countries and hence people are opting for vehicles with a little more ground clearance. This has prompted manufacturers to jack up their existing cars and give them a new name in order to save on cost of developing a new vehicle. The latest brand to join the bandwagon is Volvo. The Swedish automaker launched the S60 Cross Country at the Detroit Auto Show in January and the company plans to bring the vehicle to India next year.

Volvo S60 Cross Country Key Points

Engine options on the Volvo S60 Cross Country are plenty and go from 187 BHP diesel to a 250 BHP petrol. The front-wheel drive variant is equipped with a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 184 BHP of power and is mated to a manual transmission, returning a claimed mileage of 23.8 km/l. The all-wheel drive D4 variant gets the 2.4-litre five-cylinder diesel engine producing 187 BHP of power. The top of the line T5 variant gets a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine making 250 BHP of power. Soon, the car will go on sale in Europe and the USA.
