Volkswagen Virtus Price
The overall front design is quite familiar for Indians

Volkswagen Virtus price goes up to Rs. 17,91,900/- (ex-showroom) for the top-end Performance Line GT Plus variant

Volkswagen India has launched the much awaited Virtus sedan from a starting price of Rs. 11,21,900/- (ex-showroom). There are 6 variants on offer with prices going up to Rs. 17,91,900/- (ex-showroom). Bookings are already underway.

To sum up Virtus in a single line, it’s the Volkswagen’s version of the recently launched Skoda Slavia. Built on Volkswagen Group’s MQB A0 IN platform, 95 percent of Vitrus’ components have been localised.

The sedan gets the typical Volkswagen Vanilla design language with sharp cuts and creases through the body. Though the overall silhouette looks like that of the Vento, the presence of LED headlamps at the front along with bigger dimensions bring in a new appeal.

The infotainment system gets wirless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

The Virtus is the longest sedan in its segment measuring 4561 mm with boot capacity of 521 litres. The dashboard gets a 10.1-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and an 8-inch all digital instrument cluster.

Other features include KESSY (key less entry and engine start), electric sunroof, smart-touch Climatronic AC, 8-speakers as standard, wireless mobile charging, front ventilated leather seats, MyVolkswagen Connect App, etc.

The Virtus is the longest sedan in its class

Some of the safety features include 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), multi-collision brakes, hill-hold control, seamlessly integrated LED headlamps with LED DRLs, ISOFIX, 3 headrests at the rear, tyre pressure deflation warning, reverse camera, etc.

Available with 2 engines – 1.5-litre TSI EVO unit with Active Cylinder Technology (ACT) and a 1.0 TSI engine. Both are equipped with idle Start/Stop and mated to a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic (torque converter (1-litre) or a 7-speed DSG (1.5-litre) transmission.

The rear bumper gets chrome lining

The 1.5-litre turbo petrol produces 147.95 HP and 250 Nm of torque while the 1-litre engine delivers 113.42 HP and 178 Nm of torque.

The Virtus is available in 6 colours – Wild Cherry Red, Carbon Steel Grey, Reflex Silver, Curcuma Yellow, Candy White and Rising Blue. It will compete with Skoda Slavia, Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Ciaz.
