Volkswagen has revealed the India-spec Taigun SUV ahead of the Auto Expo.
After a lot of teasers and speculations, Volkswagen has finally lifted the veil of the Taigun ahead of the Auto Expo 2020. It is an India specific compact SUV that will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, etc.
The Volkswagen Taigun is based on the same MQB A0 IN platform as the Skoda Vision IN SUV. The German carmaker is likely to introduce the new Taigun in the Indian market in 2021.
In terms of styling, the Taigun follows the same design language like the other VW cars. It has a minimalistic styling approach which looks simple yet classy. The front profile gets LED headlights along with rugged bumper with skid plate.
The side profile has simple lines running across the body and shiny alloy wheels that look quite fancy. The rear also gets a rugged bumper with skid plate along with LED tail lamps.
Volkswagen is targeting high localisation of this SUV in India to come up with an aggressive price tag. The German carmaker is likely to introduce 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol engine options for the Indian market with manual and DSG auto transmission options.
