The Volkswagen Taigun price list rises till Rs. 17.50 lakhs for the top-spec GT Plus grade
Volkswagen has introduced the Taigun in India today with a starting price tag of Rs. 10,49,900/- (ex-showroom and introductory).
The compact SUV is the first car to be launched by the German firm under its new strategy specific to India and is available in colour options such as Candy White, Carbon Steel, Curcuma Yellow, Reflex Silver and Wild Cherry Red.
It comes with 2 turbocharged petrol engine options such as the 1.0-litre 3-cylinder unit making 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque for the Dynamic Line which comprises Comfortline, Highline and Topline variants.
A 1.5-litre motor good for 150 PS and 250 Nm of torque powers the Performance Line lineup which consists of only 2 grades, namely the GT and GT Plus.
Both motors can be teamed with a 6-speed manual and while the 1.0-litre TSI has a 6-speed torque converter auto as an option, the larger engine can be fitted with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission as well.

The compact SUV comes with a standard 4 years or 1 lakh km warranty (that can be extended up to 7 years and 1.50 lakh km), 4 years roadside assistance (extendable up to 10 years) and 3 free services.
Volkswagen has also revealed the prices of its service value packages (for 4 years) which begin at Rs. 21,999/- for the 1.0-litre TSI MT, and rise to Rs. 23,999/- for the 1.5-litre TSI MT and DSG and to Rs. 27,999/- for the 1.0-litre TSI AT. The car needs a service once a year or at every 15,000 km.
