Volkswagen has launched the T-Roc in India which is being imported as a CBU.
After showcasing it at the 2020 Auto Expo, Volkswagen has finally put the T-Roc on sale in India. The T-Roc is imported as a CBU in a single fully loaded variant, priced at Rs. 19.99 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The styling is typical VW, having straight lines and simple design language. The front profile gets a wide grille extending towards the headlights. It comes with LED headlights and DRLs.
The side profile looks sporty thanks to the 17-inch diamond cut alloys and raked rear roof line giving a coupe-like silhouette. The rear profile gets roof mounted spoiler, sporty bumper and LED tail lights.
Powered by a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine producing 150 PS and 250 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG auto transmission. There is no diesel engine or manual transmission available with the car.
This engine comes with Active Cylinder Technology which can shut off two cylinders depending on the throttle input, which saves a lot of fuel while coasting.
Some of the key highlights include 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, all-digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, front & rear parking sensors, dual zone auto climate control, 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system and rear camera.
The Volkswagen T-Roc competes with Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass and the likes.
