Volkswagen T-Cross To Get 1.5-litre TSI In India

The T-Cross will be launched next year to rival the Kia SP2i, Hyundai Creta and Tata Harrier.

The T-Cross gets an upright stance and a high ground clearance

The Volkswagen T-Cross gets square fog lamps, a large grille up front with a VW logo, all-LED headlamps, and DRLs. It has a very upright stance and large wheels, giving it a very muscular look. The high ground clearance of the vehicle also adds up to the muscular and robust look. The tail lamps run through the rear section of the vehicle, encased in a gloss black panel to give it a nice signature look.

On the inside, the T-Cross gets an all-digital instrument cluster, similar to that of the Audi’s. The large touchscreen placed in the middle of the dashboard also feels premium and supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. You get to choose multiple driving modes on the T-Cross, like Eco, Normal, Sports and another one that you can customise as per your needs. As you would expect from the German automaker, the quality on the inside is pretty good and there are next to none signs of cheap plastics. The car will be based on the modified MQB A0 IN platform for the Indian market.

The India-spec SUV will be powered by 1.5-litre, four-cylinder EVO TSI turbo-petrol engine, that will churn out 130 BHP. The engine will also get a feature that can shut down one cylinder, to enhance the fuel efficiency of the vehicle by 10 percent. Although, the German carmaker will not offer a diesel engine for the Indian market.
