The Volkswagen T-Cross Breeze Concept shares its interior with the BUDD-e concept showcased at the Consumer Electronic Show, Las Vegas in January.
The Geneva Motor Show is here and the next few days will see a lot of new launches and reveals. Volkswagen decided to start the show by unveiling the T-Cross Breeze concept which is a convertible compact SUV that is set to become the first in its class. The automaker also unveiled the new Up!
The Volkswagen T-Cross Breeze Concept will be accompanied by a hard-top sibling which was teased by the automaker last week. Both the new crossovers will be the smallest offering from the manufacturer and will be built on the MQB platform that underpins the Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen Tiguan, Audi A3 and many others.
The cabriolet concept has a very strong presence with the front fascia looking similar to the T-Roc concept showcased at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The overall stance looks like the Range Rover Evoque Convertible while the LED headlights and fog lights are not expected to be carried over to the production version.
The interior will be borrowed from the BUDD-e concept showcased at the Consumer Electronic Show, Las Vegas in January which means the number of buttons will be limited while most of them will be replaced by touch screen surfaces and the infotainment system will be equipped with voice and gesture recognition and Beats audio speakers. Volkswagen has confirmed that a number of other SUVs looking similar to the T-Cross will come in the future. The automaker pulled the plug on the Taigun project recently.
