The Volkswagen Polo Matte Edition gets the same exterior colour as the Rapid Matte Edition
Volkswagen is getting ready to introduce the Polo Matte Edition and one unit of the new variant has been spotted at one of the brand’s dealerships.
The Volkswagen Polo Matte Edition is likely to be put on sale this festive season and could well be the last of the special editions of the hatchback which will be replaced by a new model soon.
The Matte Edition of the Polo sports a Matte Grey exterior colour. Since it is based on the GT variant, it also has blacked ORVM and rear spoiler. It continues to ride on the same wheels as the GT variant and inside, it should get revised seat upholstery (one cannot be sure given the quality of the images).
In terms of features, the Polo Matte Edition should come with the same goodies as the GT variant of the premium hatchback. It is not known if other variants of the car will also get the Matte Edition.
The Polo GT is powered by a 1.0-litre TSI motor good for 110 PS and 175 Nm of torque and it is teamed to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Other TSI variants also get a 6-speed manual option.
Last week, it came to light that Skoda is about to introduce the Rapid Matte Edition this festive season and it had the same exterior paint. However, it came with plentiful gloss black exterior parts, including the wheels, an Alcantara interior upholstery, Tellur Grey cabin, flat-bottom steering wheel, among other things.
