The Volkswagen Polo Legend edition has been launched to celebrate the car’s long run in India
Volkswagen has introduced the Polo Legend Edition, a limited, celebratory edition that is based on the GT TSI grade, today to mark the journey of the premium hatchback in India.
This new edition which will account for the final units of the fifth-generation Polo in the country, will come with “Legend” motifs on the fender and the boot.
It will also have specific side body graphics, black boot garnish and black roof foil. At present, Volkswagen India has not announced how many units of the Polo Legend edition it plans on making.
Similarly, the German marque has not revealed the asking price of the limited edition either. Since the GT variant of the Polo is priced at Rs. 10.25 lakhs (ex-showroom), the “Legend” will cost the same.
Like the GT TSI variant it is based on, the Polo Legend edition will be powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 110 PS and 175 Nm of torque. It is teamed to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Introduced in 2010, the Polo was the first locally manufactured model for Volkswagen at its Chakan factory in Pune. Over the course of the last dozen years, more than 3 lakh individuals have purchased the Polo in India.
