Volkswagen India has launched the Cross Polo, which comes with rugged cosmetic changes on the exteriors, retaining the same equipments and tech specs. The Cross Polo features the same 3-cylinder 1.2-litre TDI diesel engine that produces 75 PS of power at 4200 RPM with 180 Nm of torque at 2000 RPM, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The automaker is offering a single model of the Cross Polo, which is based on the Highline trim and retails at Rs. 7.75 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The deliveries will commence right away starting from 23rd August.
The Volkswagen Cross Polo comes with a body kit that includes black cladding all around, silver finished front and rear skid plates along with honeycomb air inlet up front. There is a revised grille with chrome accenting, 5-spoke alloy wheels, silver roof rails along with silver finished ORVMs. You can find Cross Polo badging just above the cladding on the rear doors. The interiors now come with an updated ‘Livon’ titanium black upholstery, leather wrapped steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake lever. Chrome treatment has been given for an up market feel.
There are no major changes on the Volkswagen Cross Polo compared to the standard Polo Highline model. The ground clearance of the vehicle remains the same at 168 mm and the 15-inch tyres are also retained. Exterior colours on offer are red, silver and black. The body kit treatment reminds you of the Skoda Fabia Scout, which received underwhelming response from the market. The price difference between the Polo Highline TDI and Cross Polo is a whopping Rs. 70,000/-. Do you think the new Volkswagen Cross Polo is worth the premium price tag?
