While opening bookings for compact sedan Ameo from 12th May 2016, Volkswagen India revealed variant wise features and the available engine options.
Volkswagen has started taking bookings of the Ameo and it will be offered in 3 trim levels – Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. The vehicle will be offered with a 1.2-litre MPI petrol engine producing 74 HP of power and 110 Nm of torque. Volkswagen will also offer the 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine but it will be launched at a later date. The automaker will also upgrade the power on the diesel engine while launching it. The petrol engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
All variants will be available in five colour options – Toffee Brown, Reflex Silver, Candy White, Blue Silk and Carbon Steel. The standard features offered on all trims are dual front airbags, ABS, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering, central locking, body-coloured door handles, bumpers, wing mirrors with turn indicators and front power windows.
In addition to the above standard features, the Comfortline variant is equipped with cruise control, ESP, fog lamps, entertainment system with 4 speakers, Bluetooth and iPod connectivity. Driver seat is height adjustable and all windows are powered. Cooled glovebox and electrically adjustable ORVM’s are also available in this trim. Another feature that is Hill Hold will be offered only in the DSG variant of this trim.
The Highline topmost variant includes automatic climate control, steering-mounted controls, rear AC vent, rear defogger, power foldable ORVM’s, alloy wheels, automatic wipers, reverse parking sensors with camera, leather-wrapped steering and gear lever. Touchscreen MirrorLink, auto-dimming IRVM and brushed aluminum accents are also added inside the cabin. Prices of the Ameo are yet to be announced by Volkswagen.
