Vida V2 comes with new changes including three variants, new battery pack, etc.
Hero MotoCorp’s electric subsidiary, Vida, has introduced the new V2 electric scooter in India, offering three variants – Lite, Plus and Pro – with prices starting at Rs. 96,000/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). The V2 range marks an evolution of the V1 lineup, with updates in performance and pricing aimed at catering to a broader audience in the growing electric two-wheeler segment.
Vida V2 Variants and Pricing
- Lite: Rs. 96,000/-, equipped with a 2.2kWh battery and a claimed 94km IDC range.
- Plus: Rs. 1.15 lakhs, featuring a 3.44kWh battery, 143 km claimed range and an 85 km/hr top speed.
- Pro: Rs. 1.35 lakhs, the range-topper with a 3.94kWh battery, a claimed 165 km IDC range and a 90 km/hr top speed.
Specifications and Features
The Vida V2 Lite is the most affordable variant, introducing a smaller 2.2kWh battery pack. It offers a lower 69 km/hr top speed compared to the Plus and Pro models, which boast 85 km/hr and 90 km/hr, respectively. The Lite variant is limited to two riding modes—Ride and Eco—but shares many features with its pricier counterparts, including a 7-inch touchscreen TFT display.
Visually, the V2 models are nearly identical to the V1 lineup, with the addition of a handlebar shroud being the only noticeable design change.
Battery and Warranty
The Vida V2 lineup offers a 5-year/50,000 km warranty for the scooters and a 3-year/30,000 km warranty for the battery packs. This warranty coverage aligns with industry standards and enhances customer confidence in the product’s durability and performance.
Positioning in the Market
With a starting price of Rs. 96,000/-, the Vida V2 Lite competes directly with models like the TVS iQube 2.2 and Bajaj Chetak 2903 in terms of pricing and battery capacity. This competitive pricing strategy, combined with Hero MotoCorp’s brand equity, positions Vida as a strong contender in the electric scooter market.
Market Outlook
The Vida brand has been gradually gaining traction in the EV space, with steady monthly sales growth. The launch of the V2 Lite is expected to accelerate this momentum, especially as Vida expands its network of showrooms across India. With its affordable entry-point model and a comprehensive range of options, Vida is poised to strengthen its foothold and potentially become one of the top five players in the Indian electric two-wheeler market.
The Vida V2 series reflects Hero’s commitment to innovation and affordability in the electric mobility space. By addressing diverse customer needs through a tiered product lineup, the company is well-positioned to capitalise on the increasing demand for eco-friendly and cost-effective transportation solutions in India.
