Piaggio has launched the Vespa Esclusivo limited edition variant based on the VX 125 model. Priced at Rs. 81,786 (ex-showroom, Mumbai), the production of the Vespa Esclusivo is limited to 1000 units only and commands a premium of Rs. 4000/- over the standard VX model. Essentially the Esclusivo gets the same mechanicals as the standard model and has been brought in as an exclusive package for customers ahead of the festive season.
The visual enhancements on the Vespa Esclusivo include new checkered decals on the front apron and the engine cowl, dual tone powder coated alloy wheels with black spokes and silver rims; and black seats with contrast coloured stitching and piping along the sides. The limited edition model also comes with a numbered Esclusivo badge on the front apron’s storage compartment lid, and gets a unique number that will be special to each limited edition model and won’t be repeated.
Piaggio is offering the Vespa Esclusivo limited edition model with a choice of three colours namely Monte Bianco (white), Nero Matt (Black) and Rosso Dragon (Red). It is believed that the Esclusivio decals for the Vespa have been imported directly from Italy. Apart from the visual enhancements, there is no change to the engine or any other mechanicals on the scooter. The Esclusivo is powered by the same 125cc, 3-valve, 4-stroke engine that produces 10 PS of power and 10.06 Nm of torque, paired to a CVT transmission.
The retro styled scooter is equipped with a 200 mm ventilated front disc brake, while a 140 mm drum brake setup serves the purpose at the rear. It is also the only scooter in the segment to have a monocoque steel body construction. With the Esclusivo edition, Vespa has made the ever so stylish VX a tad bit more exclusive, albeit at an extra cost. Most recently, Piaggio also initiated its global campaign ‘Do You Vespa?’ in India.
