Volvo has revealed the facelifted 2022 model year XC60 that now comes with a raft of upgrades, including the latest Android-powered infotainment system with built-in Google apps and services.
Although most of the changes pertain to the technology package the luxury SUV comes with, the carmaker’s designers have also made subtle changes to the model’s exterior styling.
Now, the car comes with a new radiator grille upfront along with revised front and rear bumpers. The Swedish automaker has also thrown in new sets of wheels, while customers also have the option of choosing new exterior colours now.
Inside, there are new materials offered, including leather-free options as well as a “City Weave” textile upholstery.
Now, for the main set of changes. Volvo introduced a new Android-based infotainment system that it developed with Google in the new XC40 Recharge and the same has been carried over to the 2022 XC60 as well.
According to Volvo, this next-generation infotainment system offers customers the latest personalisation and connectivity options.
The firm has also introduced a “Digital Services” package that provides customers access to Google Apps, including Google Maps, and services and offers hands-free help with Google Assistant, among other things.
When it comes to safety upgrades, the 2022 Volvo XC60 now comes equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as automatic braking, collision avoidance, and Pilot Assist function.
Set to enter production overseas by end of May this year, the 2022 Volvo XC60 will come to India in the nick of time and should cost a bit more than the 2021 model.
