Tata Motors aims to launch 8 new cars over the course of the next two years.
Upcoming Tata Cars
For the past few years, Tata Motors has worked really hard to identify themselves as carmakers who not only make reliable and efficient cars but also cars that look good and are feature loaded. As a result, Tata introduced the Impact design philosophy. They launched the Tiago, Tigor and Nexon under this design philosophy and all of them have been received very well. Tata Motors has now moved on to Impact 2.0 design philosophy. The carmaker has already launched the much anticipated Harrier SUV under it. Furthermore, Tata plans to launch a series of cars under this design philosophy over the next 2 years.
Tata Altroz
Tata unveiled the 45X concept at the 2018 Auto Expo. It has now been confirmed that the 45X concept is Tata’s upcoming premium hatchback, the Altroz. The car is based on the new-gen Impact Design 2.0 design language and ALFA Advanced Modular platform. Tata showcased the Altroz in all its glory at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. The Altroz is Tata’s first attempt at the premium hatchback space. The Altroz’s design is a work of Tata’s design studios based in UK, Italy and Pune.
The Tata Altroz is most likely to be powered by the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel engine seen in the Nexon. Moreover, Tata will provide a choice of manual and automatic transmissions with the Altroz. The Altroz will rival the Maruti Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo and Honda Jazz when launched. Prices for the Altroz are likely to be in the Rs. 5.5-8.5 lakhs (ex-showroom) range. The Altroz is supposedly the very next car Tata plans to launch with deliveries slated to begin this festive season.
