Suzuki Burgman Electric Design Side
Will Honda or Hero MotoCorp take it up to bring the first CNG scooter?

Suzuki Is Planning To Launch Their First EV Scooter Very Soon!

Based on the Suzuki Burgman, the upcoming electric scooter from Suzuki for India will have a fixed battery setup. It will compete with the likes of Ather and Ola electric scooter having a similar architecture of fixed battery.

Over a year ago, Suzuki had showcased the e-Burgman and they claimed to have a swappable battery setup. While we saw a lot of these scooter being tested as well. Suddenly the test mules don’t appear that often which looks like a change in plan from the brand side.

Suzuki is likely to start producing of their first electric scooter by the end of 2024. However if there’s any difference in terms or design or a complete new look is followed the acceptance will be based on the range it offers.

The Suzuki Burgman earlier took a lot of hate for the design language but now it is one of the top 5 scooters sold in India. It is a maxi-scooter and a family scooter at the same time while being very frugal too with the 125cc motor that’s shared with the Access and Avenis.

Suzuki plans to sell the electric scooter for almost 25000 units annually. Although Suzuki is late to enter the party, this figure is very much possible if they prove of build quality and good riding range.

While an Indian brand, TVS, already has electric scooters in their portfolio and they are now moving towards CNG-based scooter development. Suzuki should gear-up and give the EV market a steer by launching their first electric scooter for India.

None of the Japanese brands like even Honda have got any electric scooters for India. If Suzuki gets it on, would you prefer to buy an electric scooter from them?
