The upcoming SUV from Honda will sit above the HR-V
There is a new SUV from Honda that is upcoming and it is said to be based on the same platform as the new generation Civic sedan.
To be positioned between the HR-V and CR-V SUVs in the Japanese firm’s global product portfolio, the new Civic-based SUV is expected to arrive by September next year and it should be around 4.5 metres long.

Nothing is known about how the exterior of the upcoming Honda SUV will look like. It could be inspired by the Civic, but should also come with a bit more outdoorsy styling.
But, being a car that would mostly spend its life within the urban confines, the Civic-based SUV should feature a cabin rich in new age technology. Here too, the D-segment sedan’s influence could well be seen.
Expect to see the same set of powertrains found in the Civic doing duty in the new SUV. Apart from the 1.5-litre turbo petrol (180 HP and 240 Nm) motor, there should also be a e:HEV (hybrid) variant on offer. All engines will be paired to a CVT.
