The Renegade Vegas and Renegade Duty S bikes will be launched in India.
The EICMA 2018 Show at Milan, Italy, was regarded as one of the best motorcycle exhibition shows in the world. It was a platform for bike manufacturers to showcase their products and concepts for the upcoming year to the world. Among the many manufacturers who frequented the show, one of them was UM Motorcycles, the motorcycle manufacturing division of United Motors.
UM Motorcycles revealed their new line of motorcycles, which included the Café Racer 250 V-twin, Café Sport 250 V-twin and Scrambler Naked 250 V-twin. A new addition to this feature was the new Renegade Vegas Cruiser.
The design of the Scrambler Naked 250 V-twin when combined with the dual purpose tyres, spoke wheels, long seat and stance suggests that the bike is meant for adventurers. But it is the Café Sport and Café Racer, with their single seat and rear cowl that share the sporty feel. All three bikes run on the same 248.9cc, air-cooled, V-twin engine which can generate a maximum power of 18 BHP and a maximum torque of 18.5 Nm.
Among the four bikes, the Renegade Vegas cruiser bike is the only one that sports the traditional design pattern of United Motors. The model also incorporates modern styling cues. The Renegade Vegas cruiser bike had the biggest engine of the lot with a 300cc, single-cylinder motor that produces a maximum power of 25.4 BHP, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
Currently, these motorcycles will be made available to the European biker community. While the discussion about entry of these bikes in India is on the table, United Motors has expressed their interest to expand the range available to the Indian market. They will be doing this by bringing in international categories to the Indian motorcycle market. Currently UM Motorcycles has planned to bring in only the Renegade Vegas and the Renegade S bikes to India.
They further said the current motorcycle market scenario in India is an exciting time to for the company to want to participate, since there are a lot of new launches expected to take place. It is expected that UM Motorcycles will launch the Renegade Vegas, Renegade Duty S and the DSR Adventure bikes within April-June of 2019.
