TVS has showcased their first performance electric scooter which is more of a maxi-scooter at a price of ₹ 2,49,900/-. While the scooter looks very similar to the first Creon design showcased in the earlier Auto Expo, it does match with the design language of the current generation TVS NTorq 125.
First Electric Scooter To Get ABS
The new TVS scooter, namely the TVS X is one of the first electric scooters in India to get single-channel ABS as standard. It is also equipped with petal disc brakes on both the ends – 220 mm front and 195 mm at the rear. While the rear gets a single sided setup like normal scooters, it comes equipped with a linked monoshock unit while the front gets a telescopic suspension setup.
First Scooter With Split Frame Setup
The TVS X uses an aluminium alloy frame that is actually a split chassis unit and is more focused on stability. It also comes equipped with a split seat setup while the seat height is about 770 mm, it gets a ground clearance of 170 mm. The 4.44 kWh battery also sits in between chassis structure and floorboard unit.
Tech Loaded
With 140 kms IDC range, the scooter can easily go the distance for daily duties. It also supports fast charging and it can charge up to 50% in 50 mins with a 3 kW charger. It also gets the largest 10.25-inch display which all the scooter data with connectivity features and it can also play music. The navigation works really well while it has TPMS too. The motor has a standard output of 7 kW with 11 kW peak and it can do 0-60 km/hr in 4.5 seconds which is quite brisk! The top speed it limited to 105 km/hr and there are 3 riding modes to select from.
A Bit Pricey
The TVS X has been launched at ₹2,49,000/- which is not a standard number we have seen for scooters. Yes it is pricey and it will be launched in Bangalore first while TVS would cover the whole country eventually. This product is also targeted towards south-east Asia and UAE markets but the international plan will pan out in the 2024 financial year.
