TVS will be launching the all new Victor motorcycle later this year along with the a high powered premium bike which is likely being built under the TVS-BMW alliance.
TVS has been keeping a low profile for about a year now while its products rake in impressive sales as it continues to launch new mass market offerings every quarter. Nonetheless, the second half of the year will see the Chennai-based manufacturer be a bit more in the limelight as it plans to bring out the highly awaited all new Victor motorcycle, as well as the high-powered technologically equipped K03 (codename) performance bike that is currently being developed in collaboration with BMW Motorrad.
In a recent statement, TVS confirmed the launch of both the offerings this year. The resurrected Victor will most likely be a 125cc offering (with a 5-speed gearbox) and will be sold alongside the Phoenix to take on the Honda Shine, Hero Glamour and the likes in the segment. The big newsmaker though will be the K03 sub-500cc offering built under the TVS-BMW alliance. While limited details are available on the upcoming bike, the bike will be available in street-fighter, super sports and adventure body styles with power coming from possibly a 300cc engine (hence the codename). A 2016 Auto Expo debut can also be expected for the K03 for maximum visibility. We can also expect a few hints from the Draken concept to drop by on the production spec model.
While TVS seems to be getting aggressive about its plans for the year, we can’t help but ask what happened to the new generation Apache models that were said to be launched in the first quarter of this year. TVS’ flagship offering at present, the Apache is one of the most loved affordable performance bikes in the country but is in a dire need of an update. Earlier reports suggested of a bigger 200cc mill featuring on the model along with a host of tech wizardry. Details seem to be sketchy at the moment as the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer has kept its guards on very strongly.
