We told you that this month of August is going to be very exciting, as most manufacturers have scheduled the launches of their new products in the next 30 days ahead of the festive season and now, two-wheeler maker TVS has announced that it will launch the Scooty Zest 110cc automatic scooter on 20th August in the country. The Scooty Zest was first showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo held in February this year and is a new version of the outgoing TVS Scooty, one of the more popular scooters amongst women.
The TVS Scooty Zest shares its underpinnings with the existing model, but has been completely redesigned with changes to the headlight, turn indicators and tail lights which are now equipped with LEDs. The instrument cluster is new and comes with a first-in-class black-lit speedometer. TVS has also updated the Scooty Zest with an all new blue shade which certainly adds to the young and vibrant feel of the scooter and will be a popular shade among the masses.
Powering the Scooty Zest is a 109.7cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine that will produce around 8 BHP of power and 8 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT-i transmission. The seat has been made longer and wider for added comfort and the flat board is broader than the current Scooty. TVS claims that the scooter offers best-in-class 19-litres of under seat storage, while the fuel economy is measured at 62 km/l. The Scooty Zest is expected to be priced around Rs. 47,000/- (ex-showroom) and will be competing against the Hero Pleasure, Honda Activa-i and the likes in the segment.
