TVS starts the shipment of ‘Made-in-India’ BMW G310 GS to Europe.
The India-made BMW G310 GS is all geared up to head to European showrooms as the media ride of the motorcycle is underway in Barcelona, Spain. The bike will be launched in Europe in the month of November this year.
The single-cylinder BMW bikes have been manufactured at TVS’ Hosur facility in Tamil Nadu and are exported worldwide. Prices start from GBP 5100 (approximately Rs. 4.45 lakhs) in the UK and the G310 GS is GBP 650 (approximately Rs. 56,000/-) more expensive than the G310R.
Neither TVS nor BMW Motorrad has confirmed the launch of the G310 GS in India. However, we expect this adventure bike to be launched in India post the launch of its street-fighter sibling, the G310R. The G310R is expected early next year. Meanwhile, BMW Motorrad is busy sorting out its retail footprint in India.
The BMW G310 GS is powered by a 313cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine producing 34 HP of power and 28 Nm of torque. This motor comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The G310 GS returns a fuel-efficiency of 30.03 km/l, as per World Motorcycle Test Cycle (WMTC).
The G310 GS uses up-side down forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. There is a 300 mm disc up front and a 240 mm disc at the rear, that take care of braking duties. Other features on this Beemer are switchable ABS and dual-purpose Metzeler Tourance tyres.
