To commemorate a woman’s ride to Khardung La Pass on a TVS Scooty Zest 110, the company has launched a special Himalayan Highs edition.
The TVS Scooty Zest 110 Himalayan Highs edition is tagged at a cost of Rs. 46,113/- (ex-showroom, Delhi) which is about Rs. 600/- more than the price of the existing model. The Himalayan Highs edition is introduced in an exclusive brown colour of Himalayan High hue, with panels pigmented in beige. The scooter also comes with body-coloured panels, rear view mirrors and a dual tone seat.
There is no change to the mechanicals and it continues to be offered with the same 109.7cc air-cooled engine exhuming 8 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 8.7 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM, transmitting power through a CVT gearbox to the rear wheel. The Scooty has a fuel tank capacity of 5-litres.
The Himalayan Highs edition also comes with a special emblem on the body. The fact that a woman attempted such a feat on a tiny Scooty is extremely remarkable and this is something that is going to be remembered for a long time.
Anam Hashim found her place in the India Book of Records for the ride. She braved challenges of her expedition from Jammu, on to Srinagar, Kargil, Leh, Khardung La Pass across Chang La on to Pangong. The return was equally tough through mountain passes of Taglang La, Lachulung La, Gata Loops , Sarchu Valley and Baralacha La. Launching a commemorative edition is the best tribute that TVS could give.
