TVS will continue the manufacturing processes of Norton in the UK itself with the same staff.

TVS has retained Norton’s entire team except the old management

Last week, TVS completed their acquisition of Norton Motorcycles for GBP 16 million. TVS will be helping Norton expand their presence in more markets. It has now come to light that the manufacturing base for Norton Motorcycles won’t be shifted and the products aren’t going to be manufactured in India.

TVS will retain the same design and assembly team and production will happen in the UK. TVS wants to re-establish Norton as a global premium brand and hence they will leverage the company’s expertise in design and engineering. Norton is headquartered at Donington Hall in Derby and they will shift to a new location in the same region soon.

TVS has stated that Norton is a premium motorcycle brand and they do not want to change that. However, Norton will make use of TVS’ global supply chain and network strength. TVS has also ruled out the possibility of lower capacity mass-market bikes by Norton.

As far as products are concerned, Norton has the Dominator and Commando which come with a 961cc, air-cooled engine while the company also has a 650cc, parallel-twin platform and a V4 platform. TVS wants to restore Norton’s glory and take it to the future by building on the legacy of these products.
