The new Race Performance teaser video from TVS hints at the upcoming Apache RTR 165 RP
TVS has released a new teaser video introducing its Race Performance (RP) brand under which more performance-oriented 2-wheelers are set to be launched.
The very short teaser video only showcases a vehicle moving through a circuit’s twists and turns from a rider’s point of view and right at the end of the footage comes the text – “The pinnacle of performance. Coming soon”.
While this is a rather bold claim in the larger scheme of things, TVS seems to be simply alluding to the fact that its upcoming Race Performance model will have the best performance in its class.
And that model is set to be the Apache RTR 165 RP which would be based on the Apache RTR 160 4V, which has a maximum of 17.55 PS and 14.73 Nm of torque. With the slight increase in engine capacity, the first ‘RP’ bike should have a bit more power in comparison.
While it is not known if this new sportier Apache variant will have a fairing, it should at least feature revised bodywork, newer paint scheme and graphics to match its demeanour.
The Apache RTR 165 RP is expected to come with adjustable front suspension, more committed rider ergonomics, a slipper clutch and dual channel ABS, apart from other features already found on the 160 4V Special Edition like adjustable hand levers, ride modes, TVS SmartXonnect, among others.
With the TVS Race Performance teaser video having already been released, the launch of the first ‘RP’ branded motorcycle will likely not be far away and when that happens, expect the bike to command a premium over the RTR 160 4V.
