2014 TVS Star City+ Review Front
The super success of its existing products has prompted TVS to postpone news launches

Riding on the success of its existing products launched in recent times, TVS Motor Company has decided to postpone the launch of its two new and highly awaited motorcycles to the second half of 2015. The upcoming motorcycles in question are none other than the Victor 125 as well as the all-new Apache Series that are expected to be game changers in their respective segments. While the manufacturer did not disclose which bike would come first, the company did state that the bikes will be launched in the first quarter and second quarter of the next financial year (2015-16).

At present, TVS is seeing a huge opportunity in existing products including the Apache, Jupiter, Star City+ and the Scooty Zest. Most of the company’s recent products opened to welcoming reviews and the manufacturer is working to expand its growth based on the existing set of products. The company has also launched the limited edition Jupiter recently to boost sales further. The strategy does contradict with the two-wheeler maker’s initial plan to launch a new product in every quarter since last year.

Nonetheless, as part of its long-term plan, TVS has set a target to increase its market share to 14.5 percent in the fourth quarter, an increase of 1 percent from the current market share. In the export markets, the company aims to capture a market share of 15 percent. TVS is betting big on its new set of launches to further increase its market share in the two-wheeler space. While the Victor will be competing in the executive 125cc segment, the premium Apache bikes will be rivalling a host of new offerings in the 150cc and above segments. TVS will also reveal the upcoming 300cc bike being built in collaboration with BMW by the end of this year.
