The TVS Jupiter ZX special edition gets a special Matte blue paint job with beige plastics, but no front disc brake as speculated earlier.
The Jupiter has turned out to be an extremely successful product for TVS while also becoming the fastest scooter to hit the 5 lakh units sales mark in India within two years of its launch. The Jupiter was also the second best-selling scooter in July this year after the Honda Activa, clocking over 43,000 units and beating the Hero Maestro in sales. Clearly, the model has lots of potential and the automaker too is trying to make the most of it. Keeping the cash registers ringing, TVS has now launched the Jupiter ZX limited edition model in India, priced at Rs. 50,012/- (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The TVS Jupiter ZX limited edition gets new ‘ZX’ badging on the side panels and a new Matte Blue paint job (thanks Supreme for sharing the scooter’s picture) separating it from the existing special edition Stallion brown, Matte black and Matte beige paint schemes on offer. Giving a contrast effect are the beige plastics that add a premium touch while the Dura cool brown coloured seat that helps dissipate heat quickly has been carried over from the 1st anniversary edition model launched earlier this year. Contrary to reports, the TVS Jupiter ZX gets no mechanical changes, nor has the company introduced a front disc brake on the scooter. The latter though would have been an appreciated addition.
In terms of mechanicals, the TVS Jupiter ZX edition continues with the same powertrain using a 109.7cc single-cylinder engine producing 8 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 8 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM, paired to a CVT gearbox. The scooter gets a telescopic suspension setup up the front and gas charged shock absorbers at the rear, while braking performance continues with the same 130 mm drum brakes at the front and rear. The Jupiter returns a fuel efficiency figure of 62 km/l.
