TVS discontinues the feature-rich Jupiter Grande and gets new features to the ZX variant.
TVS has decided to discontinue the Grande variant of the Jupiter and has transferred the features to the ZX variant of the 2-wheeler. With new and updated features on the ZX variant of the Jupiter, the scooter is well versed to stack up against the market favourite Honda Activa 5G.
The Jupiter ZX variant comes in two models – drum brake and disc brake. The drum brake variant is priced at Rs. 56,093/-, while the disc brake variant comes in at Rs. 58,645/- (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). The Jupiter ZX now comes with an LED headlamp set-up, part digital instrument console, adjustable rear suspension and chrome highlighted rear-view mirrors.
The chrome highlighted rear-view mirrors are available only on the disc brake model of the Jupiter. However, the ZX trim misses out on some features like cross-stitched seat cover, diamond cut alloy wheels and other titbits that were seen on the Grande variant.
TVS continues to power the Jupiter ZX with the 109.7cc air-cooled, OHC engine that makes 8 BHP at 7500 RPM and 8 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM. The scooter is equipped with the company’s Sync Brake System, as standard. The ZX variant of the scooter will be available in two colour options – Starlight Blue and Royal Wine.
TVS is also working on a BS6 ready engine for the Jupiter and the next-gen Jupiter will come with new features and might also sport Bluetooth connectivity as seen on the NTorq 125. The BS6 compliant Jupiter is expected to hit the market by early-2020.
