TVS has introduced a more premium version of the Jupiter with a new engine, revised styling and more features.
TVS Jupiter 125 launched with a starting price of Rs. 73,400/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). The scooter is available in three variants Drum, Drum Alloy and Disc variant and four colour options including Dawn Orange, IndiBlue, Pristine White, Titanium Grey.
In terms of styling, the Jupiter 125 gets relatively more premium details like the use of chrome, all-LED headlight, light guides, diamond cut alloys, revised tail lamp with grab rail reflector.
Powering the bigger capacity scooter is a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled, 124.8cc engine that produces 8.15 PS at 6500 RPM and 10.5 Nm torque at 4500 RPM.
It has a ground clearance of 163 mm and kerb weight of 108 kg. Gets telescopic hydraulic front suspension and monotube 3-step adjustable rear suspension.
The Jupiter 125 comes with 220 mm disc/130 mm drum brakes at the front and 130 mm drum at the rear.
The under seat storage capacity is 33 litres which they claim is the largest in its segment that can fit two full-size helmets. TVS also claims that it has the largest seat in its segment.
Some of the other features include external fuel-fill in the front, mobile charger with front mobile box, TVS intelliGO Technology, side stand indicator & engine inhibitor, semi-digital instrument cluster, etc.
The 125cc scooter competes directly against the the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125 and Yamaha Fascino 125.
