TVS Motor has teased the new Graphite scooter ahead of its launch on 5th of February, 2018. The video teaser reveals the tail-light of the scooter and the sound of the engine. The sound of the engine when the throttle is twisted makes us believe that this is definitely a scooter and also the tail-light looks similar to the one spotted on the Graphite test mule recently.
The Graphite was initially showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo in the form of a concept. While the concept vehicle featured AMT gearbox with paddle shifters and dual-channel ABS, these features are not likely to be offered on the production version of the scooter. The Graphite will be positioned as a premium scooter and gets features like 12-inch alloy wheels, fully digital console, LED tail-light, LED DRLs, engine kill switch and petal disc brake for the front wheel.
While the exact specifications are not known yet, the automaker could equip the Graphite with a 125cc or 150cc motor. This scooter can give tough competition to the Suzuki Access 125 and Honda Grazia 125. However, if the company decides to plonk a 150cc engine, the Graphite will compete with the Aprilia SR 150 and the Piaggio Vespa 150.
