TVS to focus more on Apache RTR brand as it has just turned 10, selling more than 2 million units.
Chennai-based TVS Motor is all geared to further grow the Apache RTR brand. The brand recently turned 10 years old and has sold over 2 million units. ‘Sales have grown around 20 percent in the last financial year and the average monthly volumes stand at 32,900 units’, says a top executive of TVS.
TVS says it cannot think anything beyond the brand Apache RTR. The premium motorcycle is itself around 15 percent of the total motorcycle industry and TVS sees that the brand Apache RTR still has a huge opportunity in occupying that space. Apache RTR as a brand has to widen its market.
The top executive also confirms that there will be different products and variants of the Apache RTR in spite of products from the TVS-BMW JV coming out this year. The Apache RTR brand will continue as usual and the brand BMW will be only growing the market. Both the brands Apache RTR and BMW will grow the market together in the years to come.
