TVS Apache RTX trademark filed, Apache based adventure bike under development
TVS is gearing up to make its mark in the competitive adventure bike segment with the Apache RTX, the trademark has been registered recently and launch seems imminent. The segment is currently dominated by bikes like the Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM Adventure, Hero XPulse, Suzuki V-Strom SX 250, BMW G 310 GS and the likes.
TVS is speculated to be working on a 313cc based adventure motorcycle. The single-cylinder engine is expected to produce 33.52 BHP and 28 Nm of torque. This engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and share most of its mechanicals with the BMW G 310 GS.
TVS and BMW Motorrad have a shared platform for their 313cc motorcycles. BMW offers G 310 R, G 310 RR and G 310 GS. TVS recently introduced the Apache RR 310.
TVS Apache RTX is expected to get dual side disc brakes with dual-channel ABS, inverted forks at the front and a pre-load adjustable shock absorber at the rear. The bike is also expected to get a Full-LED cluster with lots of information on display. You can also expect smartphone connectivity via bluetooth that enables more features.
When it comes to pricing, it is anticipated that TVS will position the Apache RTX in the competitive range of Rs. 3 lakhs to 3.5 lakhs (ex-showroom).
