TVS Apache RTR 160 In Matte Blue Shade Spotted At Dealership

TVS could introduce a matte blue special edition colour for the festive season with no changes to the mechanicals or power output.

The festive season demands manufacturers introduce some novelty even on their best selling products to keep the sales momentum high and new colour options, discounts and special benefits are just part of the package. It now seems TVS has planned something similar for its very popular Apache 160 as the motorcycle was recently snapped at a dealership in a matte blue paint job, hinting of a limited/special edition version to be launched soon.

At present, the TVS Apache RTR 160 comes with five colour options including black, yellow, grey, white and red. The matte blue shade compliments the bike well and gets red and black finished stripes and red pinstripes on the tyres. There are no visual changes to the bike in terms of styling, while mechanically too no such changes are expected with power coming from a 159.7cc single-cylinder engine tuned to produce 15.2 BHP and 13.1 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

This is not the first time TVS will be launching a special edition colour scheme on the Apache. Last year, the automaker had introduced a special matte black paint option on the bike (to promote a movie) and the end result was quite similar to what we see here. With sales for the Apache series strong as ever, the new option is only going to help the Chennai based two-wheeler maker clock some additional units during the festive season.

While the outgoing Apache series continues to remain popular, TVS is readying up the new flagship Apache, based on the Draken concept that is expected to be revealed in the following months. A highly awaited launch from the company, the new street-fighter will be taking the Apache brand to a whole new level with power expected to come from a 200cc motor. Then, there is the K03 street-fighter under development from the TVS-BMW collaboration, another offering we can’t wait to get our hands on.
